Thank you so much, Minerva. I appreciate the way in which you laid out both the executive order and the contents of SAVE. I’ve been aware of both, of course, however having them laid out as you did starkly shows them for what they are. Also the list of actions and protest sites you put in at the end are extraordinarily helpful—one stop shop. Surely this will end. I just wish it would happen today. I feel like I am in this nightmare and can’t wake up. Grateful for you. 💕🙏🏻

It’s astonishing that the felon wants to return Al types of power to the states to decide, but the one power that IS the state’s he wants to control. This is so disgusting, disgraceful and disturbing. Thank you for the information.

Good advice. I m feeling independent from both parties already:)

I stay independent and have for years. Doing that makes me feel like I have more leeway and I get less bothered by either side. Once upon a time and a very time ago it was, there were good people in the Republican party, thinking John McCain. Never voted for them and it felt good to know I had the option if I chose to exert it. Not boxed in so to speak. Cheers, Sarah!💕

I'm urging everyone that I can to change their affiliation to independent.

They don't seem to use a lot of brain power so they will just Purge anyone that has a D by their name.

Take action now especially before midterms

Oh, dear, still thinking the right to vote is some permanent feature of American life. Still clinging to the myth that if you keep your head down and your paperwork in order, the ballot box will be there when you need it. But, guess what if you're not white, wealthy, or waving a flag in one hand and a Bible in the other? That ballot box has a lock on it, and Trump just swallowed the key.

Let’s not sugarcoat this: Donald Trump knows he can’t win a fair election, so he’s rigging it in real time, with Executive Order 14248, a Jim Crow reboot in a red hat. This isn’t about election integrity. It’s about voter purging disguised as patriotism and gatekeeping democracy behind a paywall of documents most working-class voters don’t have easy access to.

Birth certificates. Real ID. Passports. Naturalization papers.

He’s not safeguarding the vote. He’s suffocating it with red tape.

And if you think this is just another petty Trump stunt, think again. This is systematic disenfranchisement by design, wrapped in the language of “security,” weaponized against the very Americans who keep daring to vote against him: women, students, military families, immigrants, the disabled, the poor, Black and brown voters, and anyone not lining up for fascism-lite with a side of nationalism.

What This Article Isn’t Saying Loud Enough:

This is a preemptive nullification of democracy.

Trump isn’t waiting for the courts to declare him king. He’s just acting like one, daring the system to stop him.

This is the modern poll tax.

Can’t afford a passport or get your hands on matching paperwork? No vote for you.

This is about federalizing a voter suppression regime.

By threatening to defund and decertify states that don’t comply, Trump is setting fire to the constitutional division of powers.

This is about normalizing authoritarianism through bureaucracy.

ICE doesn’t need black helicopters when it has voter rolls. DHS doesn't need troops when it has access to every voting file in the country.

Your Right to Vote Is Already Under Siege. What To Do Now:

1. Act like your vote depends on survival because it does.

2. Get your damn documents. If you don’t have a Real ID, passport, or birth certificate right now, get them yesterday. Match your name. Double-check your registration.

3. Volunteer to protect the process. If the system is being dismantled, we have to be the damn scaffolding.

4. Call this what it is: A strategic, racist, classist war on democracy.

Stop coddling this with talk of “electoral concerns” or “legitimacy debates.” This is targeted voter suppression, and it’s the death rattle of minority rule clinging to power.

I am divorced & changed my name back to my maiden name so it matches my birth certificate. I also have a passport with my maiden name on it. I'm okay, but I'm wondering about my married daughters. They both have REAL ID'S. Is that enough? Is the star on the REAL ID with USA next to it sufficient documentation?

The star simply indicates that the ID is REAL ID compliant, not necessarily citizenship. In order to prove citizenship you would have to get an Enhanced License or ID (EDL or EID), otherwise you will need your birth certificate as well.
